Dead Sparrow’s Robert North started as a corporate lawyer, although he spent more than twenty-five years working in the pharmaceutical industry in mostly non-legal roles. Ultimately he served as Chief Executive Officer and Board member of two such companies over his professional career. While he has retired from day-to-day management of companies, he remains active as a board member and advisor in the biotechnology arena, especially focusing in the important therapeutic field of oncology. Additionally, he is active in making investments in and around his community and believes that ‘building a better future’ for a community is always a better practice than spending time ‘tearing down its past’.

Robert has been married for many years and shares a beautiful daughter with his wife. He always has been active in many sports, loves to meet new people in different places around the world, and considers his colleagues and business associates among some of his closest friends.

Robert grew up in a military family, moving many times, culminating in graduating from high school overseas, so he understands the many hardships that being an ‘outsider’ can impose on people’s lives and issues associated with clashes of cultures. His life experiences on the road have made him passionate about building confidence in people and assisting where possible in unleashing the potential that everyone is born with. As a result, his readers should expect, not only more fiction books from him in the future, but non-fiction books as well that will attempt to share a few nuggets of his insight into human character that he believes might assist in our searches for happiness, success, and helping our neighbors.

Because Robert’s fiction books deal with the stark realities of violence and social issues head-on, he has chosen to use a pen name so as not to have fictional notions attributed to him or people with whom he is associated. This use of a pen name may change in the future as people realize that fiction is fiction and should not have the attribution of reality.
